about

I got bubbles in my nail polish tonight, so I’m starting a blog about my screwy black hair.

My hair’s literally screwy. It looks like it’s tightly wrapped around a screw. Some call it Type 4 hair, but I call it screwy. I love my hair and I’ve had it natural since 1999, but I only really started understanding her in 2011. I did my second big chop on April 25, 2011, so at some point, I’ll update that photo :-)

I now live in Lagos, Nigeria.

This blog is for us girls out here in the hot tropics who have to contend with the humidity of the tropics and still make our hair look good. I’m learning too, so let’s learn together!

Let’s help each other out here in the hot and humids deal with our screwy hair.

Hello. I’ve been invited to “Naturals in the City” by a friend. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it…:(

I went natural in 2007. Did my first BC in 2008, moved to Nigeria in 2010 and locked my hair in the same year (trouble finding natural hair products, plus maintenance was a hassle in the heat and humidity). I’m thinking of shedding the locks. I could use a lot of inspiration…good to meet you.
